Since the end of the year 2015, class 9c (by now 10c) from the Hamburg school in Stellingen, is actively involved with one of our partner organisations from the Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation in Mexico. The class jointly planned and organised the project „Plastik war gestern„. Their goal is to sell 5000 cotton bags with the printing ‘plastic was yesterday’. On the one hand, they want to draw attention to the wasteful plastic consumption. On the other hand, they donate part of the proceeds to the Institut Intercultural Ñöñho. Their project also involves a cooperation with the Hamburg agency Rocket & Wink for the design of the cotton bags, a collaboration with our Foundation and the complete implementation of their own project with cash management, communication about the project and the sale of the bags at various events and in various locations, e.g. In the Edeka Niemerszein in Eimsbüttel, Hamburg.
Luckily, the project did not only excite the students. In the meantime, they have already won the honorary award in the competition “One World Prize” of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany for more justice in the world. In addition to that, they even won the highly remunerative education prize from the city of Hamburg with € 10,000€.
The class also handed over their proceeds to the Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation – these 2000 € will flow to the Instituto Intercultural Ñöñho. More information about the Instituto, you will find here.
